About Thiruni
Thiruni enjoys exploring the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and playing badminton during her free time. When not outside, she enjoys playing video games and exercising her creativity by drawing. She is also actively involved with Warrior Home projects which explore the design of net zero homes.
Research Interests
Thiruni completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources. Her research interests include the following:
- The effects of urbanization on watershed hydrology.
- Examining the effects of stream power on erosion.
- GIS/Remote sensing technologies.
- Determining the effects of Low Impact Development and natural solutions on the hydrologic system.
- How urban water balance can be used to assess greenhouse gas and carbon sequestration impacts on developments.
- Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modelling.
